DESCRIPTION:Join me (Amy Lenzo) and Certified Zentangle Teacher Jill Greenbaum in this series of three two-hour online workshops for a journey into the exciting world of Zentangle. \nJill taught me how to do this. She’s a great teacher – clear\, supportive\, and creative – and I was immediately fascinated! I love it – have a look at what I’ve created so far. \nZentangle is a simple\, relaxing practice that came out of a collaboration between a calligrapher and a former Buddhist monk. It invites us to touch that place of inner calm and stillness and create something beautiful at the same time. Over the years\, I’ve discovered how very important beauty and the arts are to help me balance the stress and speed that can take over my life\, and I invite you to join me in learning a practice that you can carry with you and apply anywhere\, anytime. \nThis isn’t so much about drawing – it’s about self-care. In this time when so much is asked of us\, self-care isn’t a luxury – it’s a necessity. The art of Zentangle is about making time for yourself\, slowing down and creating opportunities for real connection (bring your teenager or best friend) and rejeuvenation. You might discover parts of yourself you didn’t know existed. \nWe’ll be working with a small group to discover and explore together\, and you will be surprised at how easy and accessible it is. From the very first class\, you will create your own beautiful Zentangle tile\, and leave with a hunger to learn even more! \n  \n  \nSession Two: Black Zentangle Tiles*\nIn the second session\, we’ll explore the reverse of everything we’ve learned so far — we will use black paper and white pens! With gel pens in hand and white chalk at the ready\, we will play with layering techniques to create extraordinary effects and fascinating new visuals. Black tile and white pens—an awesome combination!\n* features black tiles\, white gel pen\, and white chalk \n  \n  \nSession Three: Renaissance Tiles*\nIn the last session\, we shift into working with tan paper\, black and brown pens\, and white gel pens.
